Privacy policy and cookies.
Written in plain language, without sentences that run half a page. In short: I do not collect data about you that I would not have to collect, and I do not pass anything on to anyone unless I have to.
1. Who is responsible for your data
The data controller is Jakub Ciągło, trading as Semper Studio, based in Warsaw, Poland.

2. What data I collect
Contact form
The form on the contact page sends nothing to my server. When you click the button, your own mail application opens with the message already written, and you send it yourself from your own mailbox. Until you send it, that data never leaves your device.
When you write to me, I receive whatever you put in the message. Usually that is:
- your name or company name
- your e-mail address
- a description of what you need
Providing this data is voluntary, but without an e-mail address I have no way to reply.
Technical data on the server side
The server hosting this site records standard information about every visit in its logs: IP address, date and time, the address of the page visited and the type of browser. Every server in the world does this and it serves security and fault diagnosis only. I do not link this data to any person and I do not use it for tracking.
3. Why I need this data and on what legal basis
- Replying to your message and preparing a quote. The basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, article 6 section 1 letter b of the GDPR.
- Performing the contract, if you decide to work with me. The same basis.
- Settlements and accounting documents. A legal obligation, article 6 section 1 letter c of the GDPR.
- Site security and protection against abuse. My legitimate interest, article 6 section 1 letter f of the GDPR.
4. How long I keep the data
- Correspondence that did not lead to a project: up to two years from the last message.
- Data related to a completed contract: for the period required by tax law, that is five years counted from the end of the year in which the invoice was issued.
- Server logs: according to the hosting provider policy, usually up to twelve months.
5. Who I share the data with
I do not sell or share data with anyone for marketing purposes. Only parties without whom the business could not run may have access to it:
- the hosting provider, whose servers run the website and the mailbox
- the accounting office, in respect of accounting documents
- the e-mail provider, in respect of storing correspondence
Data is not transferred outside the European Economic Area.
6. Cookies and browser storage
This site sets no cookies used for tracking. I use no advertising, no profiling and no tools that build a profile of you for marketing purposes.
What is used today
- Browser session storage. One entry that remembers you are moving between subpages, so the intro screen does not appear every time. It disappears when you close the tab.
- Browser local storage. One entry holding your decision about cookie consent, so the notice does not pop up on every visit.
Both are strictly necessary for the site to work and nothing about you can be read from them. They do not require consent, but I am stating them plainly because that is the honest thing to do.
What will only appear after your consent
If I connect visit statistics or maps in the future, they will only start after you click the consent button. Until then nothing runs beyond what is listed above.
How to withdraw or change your consent
You can do it at any time with the button below. You can also clear this site data in your browser settings, in the privacy section.
7. Your rights
At any time you may:
- request access to your data and a copy of it
- correct data that is inaccurate
- request erasure of your data, as far as accounting law allows
- restrict processing
- object to processing based on legitimate interest
- transfer your data to another controller
- withdraw consent, where processing is based on it

If you believe I am processing your data unlawfully, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the President of the Personal Data Protection Office, ulica Stawki 2, 00-193 Warsaw, Poland.
8. Security
The site runs over an encrypted connection only. The e-mail address is not written into the page code as text but drawn as vector graphics, so address harvesting robots have nothing to pick up.
9. Changes to this document
If anything changes, for example if I connect analytics, I will update this document and change the date at the bottom. It is worth looking here if you come back after a long time.
